Born into Mother Nature's Womb in a corn field within late fall during the lather part of the harvest season under a Cedar Tree which provide shelter for the family. At birth, Grandma Ella Nimrod (Woman with a tree standing in a rock) bestowed Hank his traditional name To’lii (Clear completion or Clear water) and provided all the traditional rituals while raising him during the time Hank’s mom was hospitalized with tuberculous. Hank also was hospitalized for tuberculous during this pandemic in the 1950’s. Learning the English language when in the hospital. After his recovery he was raised by Grandma Nimrod with strenuous tasks of trying to communicate, where Hank was able to learn his Native language he calls his second language.

Hank has helped organize Indigenous organizations, namely the Naatsis” Aan Development Association at his community in Naatsis’ Aan (Navajo Mountain) and presented tribes Non-Profits Organizations such as the Bears Ears Inter-Tribal Coalition, Utah Dine Bikeyah and currently involved in the establishment of the Grand Staircase Escalante Inter-Tribal Coalition. Currently is the Tribal Advisory for the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. Schooling on and off reservation graduating in San Bernadino, California, worked for the United States Air Force briefly, then working for 38 years on the reservation, now retired and devoting his time to hopefully entertain the younger generation in tradition practices, traditional knowledge, culture and most importantly reverence for life and all spiritual beings. Every pillar block of knowledge will provide the stairway to navigate this knowledge towards the well-being of the unborn generation.
