Kenny Wintch, "The 'Lands Between'"

Join us for our next Bears Ears Education Center presentation, featuring BEP's own Preservation Archaeologist Kenny Wintch!

He'll be presenting on the historic context of the "Lands Between" (TLB) of southeastern Utah (see map), a temporary name for a the public lands located between Bears Ears, Canyons of the Ancients and Hovenweep National Monuments -- public lands that are an integral part of a larger, contiguous cultural and sacred landscape that connects Chaco Canyon, Mesa Verde, Bears Ears, and beyond. He'll make the case that TLB's significant historic context is adequate justification for elevated management of this overlooked landscape in the short term, and durable federal protection in the long term.
